Without Autism
Without my son's autism,
I would not be who I am.
I just recently started loving,
really loving who I am.
I started loving myself more when I saw myself finding more and more ways to offer my heart to someone who often doesn't understand the language that I use. He's made me work for his affection, made me create a new language with him in order to retain that affection, and for that I owe him everything.
He's taught me how to laugh--I mean really laugh. The kind of laughs that I imagine Buddha expelled and for that I will continue to give him everything.
My son's autism made be become who I always wanted to be.
