Fire
In our house,
a fire can not be alone.
Not until all family members have acquired a cognition for danger.
Until then, unsupervised fires on the stove, in the pit, or in the chimney are hearths that shake irregular beats into mama’s heart.
Tonight,
we will warm our house, taking turns sitting by the fire until the fire is out.
Everyone in this house is agreeable.
No one in this house wants to live with a mama who is suffering from heartbeat inconsistency.
For those of you without a reference of what this mama suffering from heartbeat inconsistency might look and sound like,
think Sally Field in Steel Magnolias.
It’s drama.
I mean I think it’s Oscar Worthy drama.
Not sure what they think.
So, I’m not gonna ask.
