Finding Holy

201802219-holy.png

To parents who reject their children for being "unholy,"

Many parents cry for years wondering if their child will ever have the ability to hold a conversation with them,

the ability to accept a hug from them,

the ability to dance with them,

the ability to purse their lips to form a kiss for them.

AND YOU HAVE HAD A LIFETIME OF THESE WONDERS!?!?

So, please in the name of all things divine,

if you have rejected your child upon coming out,

I beg,

pick up your child RIGHT NOW and take her/him to a gay bar and talk, hug, dance with and kiss  her/him.

Find holy in your child's voice.

Find holy in your child's embrace.

Find holy in your child's footwork.

Find holy in your child's touch.

Find holy in that bar.

Not just because rejecting a human heart is a godless act, but because losing the opportunity to exist WITH your child when she/he is here is not something I think you will ever feel good about as you repent at the gate.

I beg.

Try that gay bar.

The church that nurtures your child's heart is the holiest of places you will ever visit.

...my uterus is screaming at you.
