The reason for my son’s autism is not vaccines, darling.

It won’t be for yours either.

Having an autistic son is awesome.

Having a dead son is not.

Prioritizing death over disability in both our verbal and nonverbal language is not only an ugly form of parenting, it is an ugly way of communicating that you fear the idea of having/being/living with autistic children—my eight-year-old son.
