The Chair
Autism has taught me that most of us live on and in ideas;
not on and in reality.
We check into our daily rituals without paying attention to our discomforts in these rituals.
Our bodies don’t necessarily like to inhabit chairs, for example.
Long periods of chair sitting pisses our bodies off, actually; messing with our bone structure, organ functioning, and breath.
Don't get me started on mental health.
Many autistic beings, at a very early age, will express this discomfort in the chair ritual.
And academia, therapeutic intervention, and parents will apply heavy amounts of resources to makes sure that she/he sits on and in that idea.
Because we love or maybe have just gotten used to the chair and how the chair allows us to operate on and in a whole slew of other ideas.
