Stealing Snuggles
When you have a little dude who wiggles out of hugs and runs away from kisses,
the one out of maybe three nights that he falls asleep on the couch in his five years of living (my dude needs his bed time routine),
you drop EVERYTHING you are doing,
you scoop him up,
lay him flat on your chest,
let his body lay heavy.
Let his spine sink into your belly where he was formed.
You inhale and exhale,
cautiously matching his sighs (don't want him to stir) for full hours...because you don't know when/if this connection will happen under a nearby moon.
...and of course, you take several photos of this connection,
BECAUUUUUSE.....you need to trap how you felt as you two inhaled and exhaled, at the very same time, in a visual capsule that can retell your feelings over and over again.
I steal snuggles...and I take photos of said snuggles.
Mama needs what mama needs.
