Circuitry
You know when you are in a business meeting
and the heat swells between mouths
and suddenly the wires in your head cross,
short-circuit?
Your thoughts begin to glitch on short phrases that
may
or may not be intelligible
and it isn’t until
you leave the swell that your brain’s wires uncross
and you untangle your thoughts into cohesive, intelligible
sentences, but you still live with the fact that you were
unable to cut through the heat on your own in the
business moment.
Now imagine if that happened to you all day.
With your peers,
your closest friends,
your family,
your brain slowed and struggled with
or even stopped at words
and you had to live with all of those moments
in all of those spaces.
Would you melt down occasionally?
Me too.
