Bad Data, Mean Data
Problem: Parents with/without survey education internalize unfair and unnecessary psychological information when filling out required I.E.P. documents.
Philosophy: Public Education funding, assessment, and placement models should be used to establish need for academic resources, not to reinforce social constructs—particularly, those that are based on elitist and even discriminatory ideological paradigms and practices. Parents should not be required to answer questions about topics, such as: the student’s ability to recognize the need to write “thank you cards,” the “likeability” of a student, and parents’ feelings of “shame.” Questions like these only reinforce segregation and generate distrust of our education system. Questions like these tell the parents who've never worked with survey data before that these variables are variables that they should consider.
Solve: Revise, revise, revise! Edit out social constructs that are intervening our educational processes! Clean it up, California! Children don’t need that shizzie! Parents don’t need that shizzie! It’s not even useful data. So….your paid data analysts don’t need that shizzie either!
Bad data!
Mean data!
